Abstract

Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) is an essential approach in human resources management but one that is still poorly exploited. We will therefore give definitions to understand what exactly SWP is, then we will mention the history to find out how SWP took place and how its existence can help an organization to evolve.

Strategic workforce planning aims to reduce in an anticipated manner the gaps between needs and available resources in accordance with the strategic objectives followed through action plans in order to adapt to changes in the environment. From this perspective, it is essential to ask the following questions:  What is SWP? What is the ultimate objective and the stages of the SWP process? And finally, what are the limits of SWP?

Then the work is divided into 3 parts: The first part is based on the presentation of the theoretical part of the theme in which we are going to respond to the problem.  The second part is based on the presentation of the SWP approach.  The third part is a practical case study that reflects in a concrete way what we have seen in the two previous parts.
